4th Event of the Winter Series:
We had a great turn out for this sorting - we had about 42 riders, and around 46 head of horses, and we ran 105 runs which is the largest number of runs we done thus far in the winter series. The cows held up fine, the weather wasn't too bad either, and all in all it was a good time. Thanks to everyone that came out to ride - we enjoyed having everyone - we have good group of people attending our sortings, and we really appreciate meeting all the new riders and quests - it is great to see the sport of team sorting growing. Please feel free to invite any of your friends and family members that have not yet made it out to the sortings - the more the merrier.
Note: As a reminder, the finals weekend is a two day event, held on March 28th and 29th. We will hold the Finals BBQ/Party on Saturday night after the sorting, and everyone is welcome to attend, and please let us know if you plan on staying over Saturday night in your trailers, etc - we only have a few trailer hook ups (electric and water) so be sure to reserve one if you need a site with electric and water; we have plenty of general trailer parking. After the sorting on Sunday, we'll award the trophy awards to the winners of Novice, Jackpot and Hardest Working Cowboy and few other prizes will be be given away. Also, please keep in mind that all points earned on the finals weekend count as 1.5 times (so first place which is normally 10 points would be 15) - the added points will make a big difference in the points standing heading into the finals weekend.
Rob mentioned that RK Arena is considering holding a spring sorting series given that several folks have asked what we're going to do post the conculsion of the Winter Series; so RK Arena is working on the plan and format for possible spring series, and we should have details to share with everyone in the coming weeks - current thinking is we'll likely hold spring series for certainly team sorting, and we might also, do other ranch versatility type event(s) as well to mix it up a bit and give riders a new events to compete in with their horses. More details to follow shortly.
