The End of the RK ARENA Winter Team Sorting Series!
From the entire crew at RK ARENA, and all of our friends that donated their time to help put these events on, we all wanted to say "THANK YOU" to the nearly 110 riders that came out to sort with us over the past winter. It was a really great time and we enjoyed holding the events and meeting so many wonderful people.
Several riders expressed their gratitude to RK ARENA for making the series so much fun - but the truth is the series was such a good experience for everyone because of the riders, their friends and family members that showed up to either ride or just hang out and watch. It's the people that make a good event, and we thank everyone that came out for their support and willingness to help make the time spent in the sorting pen (or just hanging out in the office), such a good deal for us all.
So the bad news is the Winter series is now over, but the good the news is Spring is here and we're going to run a short indoor Spring Team Sorting Series (click on this link for details Spring 2009 Team Sorting Schedule ) to keep us all chasing cattle and having some fun this Spring.
If there was one thing that stands out to me personally from the experience of this sorting series - it was seeing so many new and/or less experienced riders gained so much confidence not only their own riding potential, but also the trust they developed in "their horses". It was terrific. If there was one thing I think we accomplished this winter was just seeing how many riders that simply quit worrying about how they might ride, or what their horse would or wouldn't do - and they just got out there and rode and got the job done. I saw a whole lot of similes and a bunch or riders and horses really step up and get the job done - to me that was worth all the time, investment and all the work it required to but these deals on - way to go folks.
Thanks for the great time everyone - hope to see you all back here during the spring and into the summer months as well!
