2nd Spring Series Sorting Event:
Fabulous weather (about 85 degrees and sunny), we had a great turn out and everyone had a wonderful time. We ran around 120 runs, combined all the open and novice riders into one "Novice" class and held 2-person, 3-person teams, plus doing the ever frustrating 1-person cowboy challenge - which two of the pens youngest riders (Garrett Nott and Ana Nott) finished 2nd and 3rd - congratulations kids, you did fantastic. Overall, our 2nd event of the spring series was a blast, and we had a good mix of the regular RK ARENA riders and several new riders as well.
The birthday cowboy (Tom Keegan aka "TEACH") had a good day on his birthday - he won the 1-person cowboy challenge (again - just like he did last week) - Happy Birthday Teach! I am told that you won't win it again on May 9th - someone suggested that we blind fold you. LOL.
On to some bad news, the RK ARENA regulars are loosing a friend from the pen - Stacy Smith has decided to take the chance and pack up and head out west looking to get on with one of the established training facilities in Oklahoma where she can show off her skills. Stacy is really a good egg, and has a lot training experience and heck of a lot of talent. We'll miss her and hopefully she'll stop back sometime and run with us when she is back in town. Good Luck Stacy - kick some butt.
