Exercising & Training

We will spend generally 5 days per week riding, exercising and training our horses that are in our program.  Your horse will be riden, given a job, and won't just stand in a stall or be turned out in the pasture.

We work with our clients to build a custom training and exercising program that sets out to accomplish what the owner wants from his or her horse. We will tune, fine tune and greatly improve upon what your horse knows, fix the typical behavioral snags that many horses have, and those rider created rough spots, and then we'll teach you what we've learned through exercising and training your horse. The objective is not only to guide and teach the horse, but to help the rider become consistent in their riding style to keep the horse and rider moving along softly and supple for a better ride.

Most of our training principals we apply follow the various top professional clinicians such as Craig Cameron, Ray Hunt, Clinton Anderson, Dennis Reis, John and Josh Lyons, and Chris Cox;  At RK Stables we strive to learn from all equine trainers, our clients and friends, all with the goal to produce respectful, willing and quite horses, which are both respectful and responsive on the ground and under saddle; we produce horeses that are supple and responsive that anyone can ride on trail, arena, show pen or on cattle.

We are clear with our clients that we are not going to create the next furity champion, or produce a finished reining, roping horse, or pleasure horse champion,  however, we will deliver you a safe and predictable horse that anyone can ride with little to no experiece and feel confident in their horse to compete in their chosen competition or their specific riding interests.

Without question, we will put a solid foundation on your horse from the ground up and under saddle; and we're confident that any horse that comes out of our exercising and training programs, will be appreciated by the industries top professional trainers for further training and finishing.
