 The RK ARENA Winter Buckle Series runs October 31st, 2009 through the final event date March 27, 2010.
There will be 11 sortings in total (see attached showbill for all the dates), and with some sorting dates we will have added money (provided by RK ARENA and Sponsors) and even a few sortings during the winter series that will have added points.
We're doing the series again this year as a way to say thanks to the riders for supporting our sorting events, and to have a little added competition through out the winter series. Like all of our sortings, it is really all about just having fun, competing with other riders, chasing a little money, growing the sort of ranch sorting, and just having a good time with a lot great people.
Points: With each event in the series, 10 riders per class will earn points for each of their qualified runs in the Novice, Open and Jackpot.
Teams which complete a qualified run in any scheduled sorting event, earn points; 10 points for 1st, 9 points for 2nd, & down to 1 point for 10th position.
All points are accurately tracked and recorded and posted before the next scheduled event. 1st place riders in each of the three classes will earn a custom RK ARENA Belt Buckle, 2nd place winners recieve other prizes such as tack and other valuable prizes.
The series last year came down to the final events and final runs before we could determine the winners, so if you're the kind of rider that wants to compete for series prizes, you should make sure you don't miss too many events, or the ad hoc sorting dates that we have added points.
